So why a new church in Greenville?
  • Isn't Greenville a Christian city?
Absolutely not. Greenville's metropolitan population (driving distance residents) number in the 120,000-160,000 range, depending on the time of the year. A survey done in 2004 says that the number of Christians in the metropolitan area is less than 90,000. This means that, if everyone told the truth on the survey and are committed Christians, there are somewhere between 30,000 and 70,000 people who don't know Christ in Greenville. And more and more people move into Greenville every year.
  • Well, aren't there enough churches?
Sure. But not nearly enough to keep up with our booming city. And not nearly the kinds of churches that are needed to meet the young, creative, intellectual population near the campus area. That's why we at Harmony Church are here: to reach people that other churches aren't, and indeed can't, reach.
  • Oh.
